Different Purpose for 301 304 316L
Although 301 304 316L are belong to 300 series stainless steel, they have same some features, such as they are all austenitic,no magnetic but in meanwhile,they have some differences, such as applicaton:

| 304 | medical equipment, building materials, chemical, ship, automobile parts of the food industry, household products (tableware, kitchen cabinet, indoor pipeline, water heater, bathtub, agriculture etc.). |
| 316L | in the presence of chloride ions corrosion medium is higher than the corrosion resistance of 304304L. It is suitable for desalination and water industry. |
General Description:
As the most typical grades of austenitic stainless steel,300 series stainless steel are belong to
Cr_Ni grades,and have good to excellent corrosion resistnce,good formability and weldability.
Their good impact strength at low temperatures is often explited in cryogenic applications.
Austenitic grades are no-magnetic in the solution annealed condition due to the austenitic microstructure.Cold working increases their strength.The microstructure showing below:
